I just want to gear towards some positivity for just a moment. Where some companies may shy away from diversity, Southwest Airlines seems like they do a great job of going outside of the box. The number of diverse military personnel that has joined their aviation ranks is just one example. Hiring military personnel seems like a no brainer – they are disciplined, respectful and on time. They are even cool under pressure like SWA captain Tammie – who was the brave and calm captain who safely landed a plane with one engine and saved 147 people.

It is days like this that remind us just how precious life is. My heart goes out to the passengers, the crew members, the company and everyone involved. Thank you Southwest for your top notch training and your dedication to hiring the best of the best.
